The St. Petersburg Kiwanis Club has awarded $11,000 in scholarships to three Pinellas County graduating seniors.

Jalisa Foster, 18, who maintained a 4.32 grade point average at the Criminal Justice Academy at Pinellas Park High School, received $8,000 to assist her with her studies at Flagler College in St. Augustine. Foster wants to become a lawyer.

Moises Numa, 18, also from Pinellas Park High School, and Katie M. DeVore, 18, from Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, each received $1,000 awards to assist them in their studies. Numa and DeVore both intend to attend Florida State University in Tallahassee. Numa will study civil engineering and business while DeVore will study business administration.

CATCOM Studios, part of the Center for Advanced Technologies at Lakewood High, won three regional Emmys in the category of Student Awards for Excellency and three honorable mentions from the National Television Academy.

Students Chris Vetter, Matt Shapiro, Jackie Winters, Jerry Gray and Jeremy Croxton won in the Technical Achievement category for 2D and 3D graphics.

Students Tutrinh Do, Amy Tran, Quinn Lundquist and Ciara Chapman won in the Arts & Entertainment category for "Person to Person,'' profile stories produced for FOX Thirteen Magazine that airs at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays on FOX-13.

Students Barbie Vizcaino, Jonathon Crouch, Ramsay Linder, Brianna Brennan and Jarred Carter won in the Sports category for "Inside Sports'' produced for FOX Thirteen Magazine.

CATCOM received an honorable mention in the News category for "In Depth'' news stories produced for FOX Thirteen Magazine by students Brittany Wahls, Sarah Wright, Abbye Floystad and Kelsi Facsina, an honorable mention in the Script Writing category for a FOX Thirteen Magazine script by student Ciara Chapman, and an honorable mention in the Public Service category for a FOX Thirteen Magazine show by students Dani Franks, Erika Fant and Matt Shapiro.
