NEW PORT RICHEY - A bill creating two new county judgeships in Pasco County is waiting for Gov. Jeb Bush's signature to become law.

They're not officially jobs yet, but that hasn't stopped one candidate from declaring her intent to run.

Longtime assistant public defender Anne Wansboro said she intends to run for county judge group 6.

She filed paperwork this week with the Supervisor of Elections Office allowing her to set up a bank account for her pending campaign.

When the judgeships are officially created, Wansboro, 39, said she'll file the official paperwork. A lawyer for 14 years, she has spent 81/2 years doing criminal defense work with the Pinellas-Pasco Public Defender's Office.

"I really like county court; it's my favorite court to be in," she said. "It's the people's court."
