Stratford on Howard

A quick look at a new development.

LOCATION: Howard Avenue and Palm Drive, one block off Bayshore Boulevard

DEVELOPER: Crescent Resources

DESCRIPTION: Three buildings containing a total of 13 four-story townhomes and a four-story building containing 22 flats. Parking garage in ground floor of flats building. Brownstone-influenced architecture. Units will have one bedroom and one bathroom, two bedrooms and two baths, or three bedrooms and two baths.

PRICE: $350,000 to $1-million

ARCHITECT: Richard Zingale of Urban Studios, Tampa.

AMENITIES: Each townhouse will have a two-car garage, stainless steel kitchen appliances, hardwood floors, elevator, rooftop terrace and gas fireplace. Flats will have optional hardwood floors and gas appliances. All units will have high ceilings, wiring for high-speed Internet access, garden bathtubs and a common pool area with cabana and outdoor fireplace.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "It's the most perfect location for living in the SoHo area," said Julie Weston of Crescent Resources. "You can walk to anything you need to. You can walk to any restaurant. It's like a boutique community."

TIMELINE: The Stratford Apartments, which previously occupied the site, were demolished in early April. Construction is set to begin in early June and take 18 months.

MOVE-IN DATE: Upon completion of construction.
