BASEBALL CAMP: The East Lake Panthers, a nonprofit youth baseball organization, will hold tryouts during May, June, July and August for the fall season. Tryouts are for the 11U and 12U teams. Children who turned 11 after May 1, 2005, and children who turned 12 after May 1, 2005, are eligible. Call 727 271-5249.

CAMP SIGNUPS: Wharton High School basketball coach Tommy Tonelli will hold four basketball camps for girls and boys entering grades 2-8. Sessions last from 1 to 5 p.m. and will be held from June 5-9, 12-16, 19-23 and 26-30.

It costs $110 for one session and $100 for each additional session.

The registration fee includes a camp T-shirt, basketball, a certificate and in-depth instruction. The camps will focus on fundamental skills, team play and sportsmanship. All classes are held at Wharton High, 20150 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. Beginners to advanced players are welcome. Call (813) 631-4710, ext. 234.

CHEERLEADING REGISTRATION: The New Tampa Patriots football teams are looking for cheerleaders. Registration has now begun for girls, ages 5-12. Call (813) 493-8700.

FENCING CLASSES: Tampa Bay Fencers Inc. is offering classes for foil, epee and saber. Anyone interested in swordplay is welcome to watch open sessions or call to request a free introductory class. Sessions are from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays andThursdays at the Northdale Recreation Center. Call (813) 787-4526.

FOOTBALL REGISTRATION: Spots are still available on two of the New Tampa Patriots 2006 football teams, varsity, ages 13-14, and flag football, ages 5-7. Call (813) 493-8700.

SOCCER TRYOUTS: The Black Watch U18 Girls Soccer Team will hold tryouts at 6 p.m. June 13 and 15 and at 2 p.m. June 17 at 11111 N 30th St. Tryouts are open for girls under 18 years old as of Aug. 1. It is putting together its team for the 2006-07 season. Call (813) 977-7199.

TRIATHLON TRAINING: Certified triathlon coach Bill Floyd is holding a clinic on Wednesday. Topics will include swim stroke analysis, skills to form a better stroke, drills to make you faster with less energy, bike handling skills, safety riding, additional skills for balance and strength, shifting skills and strategies, drills to make you faster, running drills and skills, gait analysis, basic nutrition, and hydration systems for higher performance.
