SPRING HILL - Four men have been arrested for beating another man in a Spring Hill parking lot in February. Joseph E. Lorentzen, 19, Justin Walters, 19, Joseph Ingeneri, 16, and Cody Ball, 17, have been charged with one count each of aggravated battery with great bodily harm. The incident happened about 11 p.m. Feb. 3 in the parking lot of Cici's Pizza at 12109 Cortez Blvd. Orland Berrios, 22, was attacked by a group of people and knocked to the ground, the Sheriff's Office said. He suffered facial injuries and was transported to Oak Hill Hospital. "It turns out my son's face was completely distorted," said mother Brenda Centeno. She worried that her son could have been killed by the group. More arrests are coming, said Deputy Donna L. Black, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Student charged with having gun on school bus

SPRING HILL - A 13-year-old student at Parrott Middle School was arrested Friday for bringing a pellet gun onto a school bus. Just after leaving the school on her afternoon route, bus driver Lorraine Doria was told by a student that the boy was keeping a handgun in his backpack. She sent an emergency code over the radio, then pulled the bus into the parking lot of the Florida Highway Patrol station and evacuated all 40 students. The Sheriff's Office and the Highway Patrol searched the boy's bag and found a pellet gun that looked like a Beretta 9mm handgun, according to the Sheriff's Office. The student was taken to the Hernando County Jail and charged with bringing a gun on a school bus.
