ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - A Coast Guard crew rescued five fishermen after their 28-foot vessel capsized off the coast of Florida, about 11 miles south of Pensacola Pass. A Coast Guard spokesman said Francis H. Crockard Jr., of Birmingham, Ala., and four other men were rescued Saturday after Crockard's pleasure craft Cisco Kid went down in the Gulf of Mexico about 3:30 p.m. The boat had departed earlier in the day from Orange Beach, Ala., to go snapper fishing. A Coast Guard crew from Pensacola located all five men in the craft's life raft. They were in good health and wearing life jackets. Crockard's radio beacon was registered, which helped in contacting his wife to confirm key information about the boat's location, Coast Guard spokesman Lt. John Doepp said. The boat remains partially submerged in the area. A notice informing of the potential hazard to navigation was broadcast to mariners. It's the second such rescue within a week.
