WATCH FOR ...
FOSSUM'S FITNESS: A strained left groin forced Fossum out of his last start Friday after four innings, and the Rays are sure to be watching closely tonight to make sure he doesn't further injure himself.
MR. INSIDE/OUTSIDE: When Fossum faced the Jays on April 7, he was intent on working inside, hit Reed Johnson three times and didn't get a decision. Since then, including a May 14 start against the Jays, Fossum has been working more to the outside of the plate. Overall, Fossum is 2-3 with a 5.21 ERA against Toronto.
TOWERS OF TERROR: Jays starter Josh Towers is having perhaps the worst season of any starter in the majors with a 1-8 record and 8.52 ERA. But against the Rays, he was dominant, holding them to three runs and five hits over eight innings on May 14 for his only win.
