Four men arrested in home invasion

By TIMES STAFF WRITER

RIVERVIEW - Four men were looking to even the score with someone on April 29, and deputies say they came prepared. They were armed. One man wore a bulletproof vest.

At 9:20 p.m., they burst into 12213 Glenhill Drive and threatened Carrie Sweat, 56, and James E. Lloyd, 60. At least three shots were fired. But the men's target wasn't there, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

No one was hurt. But for nearly a month the intruders remained free.

They left behind a clue though.

One of the victims told detectives one of the men looked familiar, and knew him by a nickname, Carter said. A search of police records found a match.

On Tuesday, law officers arrested Anthony Joseph Batchelor, 23, of Tampa. They say he was the one wearing the bulletproof vest. Jail records show he uses "Duce" as an alias.

Carter said Batchelor admitted participating in the invasion, and interviews led to the arrests of three others: James Dean Lloyd Hill, 21, Bryan Michael Hill, 22, and Christopher Lynn Walker, 19, all of Riverview.
