Memorial Day Events

PINELLAS PARK: A special Memorial Day ceremony featuring Eddie Koh will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Freedom Lake Park, 9990 46th St. N. It is sponsored by the city and the Korean War Veterans Association, Suncoast Chapter 14.

SEMINOLE: U.S. Rep. C.W. “Bill” Young will be the featured speaker at a 9:30 a.m. Monday Memorial Day event at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd. A memorial wreath will be presented by the American Gold Star Mothers. Clearwater High School’s Marine Corps Junior ROTC color guard also will participate.

ST. PETERSBURG: A free Memorial Day bicycle ride takes place Monday starting at 8:30 a.m. at North Shore Park, Ninth Avenue NE and North Shore Boulevard. Road or mountain bikes, hybrids, recumbents and tandems are welcome. There will be rides for all speeds. Helmets are required. Minors are welcome and must bring written permission from their parent/guardian and an adult to supervise.

INDIAN SHORES: A special celebration is 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at Town Hall for all Indian Shores property owners and residents. The formal program begins at 3 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food, toiletry and other items for troops in Iraq.
