AARP driver safety program

AARP offers refresher courses for drivers older than 50, and passing this course - which does not include driving - may earn a discount on insurance. Classes total eight hours; bring your driver's license to the first class, and the fee of $10.

To locate a class near you, choose from the list below or call toll-free 1-888-227-7669, Monday through Friday, or go to www.aarp.org/drive.

Note: Classes with fewer than 20 registrations may be canceled. SO REGISTER at least three days before the first class.

Here are the locations for classes in June in Hillsborough County:

Brandon: June 13 and 14, 12:45-4:45 p.m., Senior Center at Davis Park, 612 N Parsons Ave. Call (813) 662-0912 between 1 and 7 p.m. to register.

Sun City Center: June 1 and 2, 12:30-4:30 p.m., Kings Point Atrium. Call Encore Bank, (813) 634-8001, to register. For information, call (813) 634-7399.

June 19 and 20, 12:30-4:30 p.m., Caper Room. Call the numbers listed above to register or for information.

Tampa: June 12 and 13, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Tampa Women's Club, 2901 Bayshore Blvd. Call (813) 839-7457; ask for Pat Glasgow.

June 14 and 15, 1:30-5:30 p.m., St., Joseph's Women's Hospital Pavilion, 3030 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. W; (813) 870-4747.
