Refresh driving skills in Citrus County

By Times Staff
Published May 30, 2006

AARP offers refresher courses for drivers older than 50, and passing this course - which does not include driving - may earn a discount on insurance. Classes total eight hours; bring your driver's license and the fee of $10 to the first class

To locate a class near you, choose from the list below or call toll-free 1-888-227-7669 Monday through Friday, or go to www.aarp.org/drive.

Note: Classes with fewer than 20 registrations may be canceled. So register at least three days before the first class.

Here are the locations for classes in June in Citrus County:

BEVERLY HILLS: June 6 and 8, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Beverly Hills Recreation Center, 71 Civic Circle; (352) 746-9497 , ask for Theresa Williams. June 21 and 23, noon to 4 p.m.; Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 6 Roosevelt Blvd.; (352) 746-7916, ask for Matt Curley.

CRYSTAL RIVER: June 15 and 16, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; First Presbyterian Church, 1501 SE U.S. 19, (352) 382-5330, ask for Joanne Nessler.
