A Tampa woman was arrested Thursday on charges of practicing medicine without a license, the Sheriff's Office said.

Sally Jane Medina, 45, was arrested at Town 'N Country Hospital in Tampa. She used to work at the Doctors Urgent Care Clinic in St. Petersburg as a physician's assistant.

Medina's arrest is part of a bigger investigation by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office called Operation Pain Relief. On May 22, deputies arrested six people at the clinic after learning they were practicing medicine outside their expertise and inappropriately writing prescriptions for narcotics. On May 25, the Sheriff's Office and the state Department of Health searched the G & H pharmacy in Pinellas Park.
