Golf in space? Sounds cool, but it will wait Work trumps golf, even in space. A publicity stunt in which an astro-duffer was supposed to whack a golden golf ball from orbit for the longest drive in history will have to wait, NASA reports from Cape Canaveral. Thursday night's spacewalk outside the international space station was supposed to include the historic tee off, but the golf date was postponed until later this year when it became clear the spacewalk time would be needed for actual work. Meow, meow ... you know you want one Cats here, cats there, cats everywhere. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Tampa Bay has more than 130 felines up for adoption. See the cats at the shelter at 9099 130th Ave. N, off Starkey Road, in Largo. Check the online kennel at www.spcatampabay.org. For hours and other information, call (727) 586-3591. School suspends teacher's aide The teacher's aide accused of sexual battery on a 6-year-old girl has been suspended without pay from a Tampa charter school. Tamika Denise Lane-Gardner, 30, an aide for 10 months at the Walton Academy for the Performing Arts, was arrested last week. School officials say she passed a criminal background check when hired. After rehabilitation, bald eagle flies again Tip of the day: If you are releasing a healed bald eagle into the wild, toss it underhand like a softball. That was the advice wildlife experts gave - and it worked - to a handler who was helping an eagle fly to freedom after a month of rehab. The eagle, apparently hit by a car, had a crippled left leg, drooping wings and a temporary inability to see or move because of getting whacked on the head, the Gainesville Sun reports. But the bird healed successfully - pretty much a 50-50 proposition - and was released in a Gainesville park Wednesday. Board: Deputy's video is still inappropriate The Martin County sheriff's deputy took video of bikini-clad women at the beach - using the camera mounted on the dashboard of his patrol car. Jack Munsey was fired early this year for his videography. He appealed. The board ruling on his appeal turned him down Wednesday. It took four minutes.
