Traffic was briefly diverted from 50th Street in Tampa because authorities worried that an unknown liquid in the street might be flammable.

TAMPA - An unknown liquid spill briefly closed 50th Street from 7th Avenue to Interstate 4 in both directions, police say. The spill happened at 11:35 a.m. near Columbus Drive, according to dispatchers. Initially, officials were concerned the substance might be flammable. Members of Tampa's hazardous materials team determined that the liquid was mineral oil and the roadway was reopened about 12:15 p.m.
