NEW PORT RICHEY - A woman was playing with her granddaughters about 1 p.m. Tuesday on Menifee Court when she saw a man walk into her neighbor's house. She thought he lived there. Then her neighbor yelled, and a second man went in, but still she paid no mind. She figured one of them was her neighbor's son. She finally became alarmed, she told sheriff's deputies, when she heard more yelling and saw her neighbor's parrot take flight. The two men were robbers. Her neighbor, a 69-year-old disabled woman, had fallen victim to at least the third home invasion in the past four weeks in a 2-mile radius near the markers of Rowan Road, Ridge Road and Massachusetts Avenue. According to a sheriff's incident report, one of the men held a T-shirt over the woman's head while the other grabbed her purse from a bedroom. The men sped away in a red Chevrolet Aveo sedan, leaving the victim with inflammation on her neck.
