Eat the feast, hit the floor, sing a tune at dinner-dance
BROOKSVILLE - Marine Corps League Detachment 708 will host a dinner-dance from 7 to 11 p.m. June 24 at 8405 Sunshine Grove Road.
The dinner choice is beef tenderloin or half a rotisserie chicken. Beverages will be available in the lounge. Karaoke music will be provided by Dennis Boff.
Dress is summertime casual.
Tickets are $15 and available in the lounge from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily (to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays). For information, call 597-7979.
Celebrate independence at yacht club cookout
HERNANDO BEACH - The Hernando Beach Yacht Club will host a Fourth of July celebration starting at 5 p.m. July 1 at the club, 4163 Shoal Line Blvd.
Entertainment will be provided by Marty and the Nice Guys starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be a patriotic presentation and a visit from Uncle Sam.
Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and will be a traditional cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, baked beans, salads and dessert. There will be a patriotic display at dusk.

Meet the candidates at Coast Guard Auxiliary
HERNANDO BEACH - The Hernando Beach Property Owners Association and Hernando Beach Coast Guard Auxiliary will host a "Meet the Candidates" night from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Coast Guard Auxiliary building, 4340 Calienta St.
