I am writing this to commend the well-known Paulter family of Tampa, who generously gave of their time, skills, labor and finances to assist my friend, Kelly, in her endeavors as a foster parent. Although Kelly is a friend of the Paulter family, the task they took on demonstrates the true meaning of God's faithfulness and goodness and the blessings he will pour out on his children when they are doing his work. Kelly has a huge heart of gold and a true concern for child welfare. Instead of just standing by idly, Kelly put her concern into action and became a licensed foster parent. In this way, she felt, at least she could help one child at a time. However, Kelly's heart of compassion would not let her take just one child. Unfortunately though, her home is not as big as her heart. Therefore, when Kelly expressed her desires to this particular family, they mobilized and took action. They built an addition on to Kelly's house so that more children might have a safe, loving environment to call home. I watched, in utter amazement, God's loving kindness unfold right in front of me. This family, along with Kelly and her children began to transform the back, screened-in porch into an enclosed room. Although the room was not totally refurbished in one weekend, the amount of work collected was astounding. The picture of a lush, tropical island posted on Kelly's front door states it best, "Paradise in Progress." I look forward to seeing this "paradise," this haven God is creating for the children he is entrusting to Kelly. A huge thank you to the Paulter family for making Kelly's dream a reality! And of course, a huge thank you to Kelly for loving God's children, the orphans, as the Bible instructs. It truly does take a village. Allison Ann Corsones New Port Richey *** In December 2005 we sadly had to put our dog, Hunny, to sleep due to medical problems. It broke our hearts and was one of the most difficult tasks we have ever had to do. Dr. Caroline M. McCashion had been Hunny's vet for many years and worked diligently with us to maintain her health. When the time for end of life care came, Dr. McCashion and her staff at Companion Animal Clinic on State Road 52 in Hudson were so kind and compassionate. Their sincerity was evident as they shed tears and hugs with us that day. Their caring did not end that day but was evident with several weeks of flowers and poems. Their love for their job and their patience was always evident and was so helpful to us. I have been a nurse for many years and feel if that kind of love and compassion was carried out throughout the world this would be an amazing place. Companion Animal Clinic physicians and staff should be commended. They are an asset to the community. We are thankful for everything they did for us. We have since moved out of state and as we get ready to get another dog we pray that we will find people as wonderful as Companion to care for our new family. Nelson and Sandy Markham Lawrenceville, Ga. *** The Briar Patch Homeowner's Association would like to commend public works director Tom O'Neill and the city of New Port Richey for outstanding service. There was a potentially major problem developing in our community. We called Mr. O'Neill, and without hesitation he met with us. He and his staff came to Briar Patch to survey the problem first-hand. Within a very short period of time, our situation was resolved. The professionalism and courtesy from Mr. O'Neill and the city is as good as it gets. Our community is most grateful. Frank Ferreri President, Briar Patch Homeowner's Association Inc. New Port Richey *** We want to thank everyone for their prayers, calls, cards, concern and love shown to our granddaughter, Rebecca Rowe. A special thank you to the Vietnam veteran who left a beautiful watch for Rebecca at Living Word Church. Such a very tender thought. Please come to Living Word Church so we may meet you.
