THIS WEEK TALENT SHOW: Playhouse 19, 865 U.S. 19 Crystal River, will have its fourth annual talent show at 7:30 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Saturday. THE CITRUS COMMUNITY CONCERT CHOIR resumes rehearsals at 7 p.m. Tuesday for its summer concerts, which will feature Lerner and Lowe music. The rehearsal site has been moved to Faith Lutheran Church, 935 S Crystal Glen Drive, in the Crystal Glen subdivision in Lecanto, near State Road 44 and Homosassa Trail (County Road 490). New members are welcome; tenors and altos are especially needed. Audition arrangements can be made by calling director Jacki Doxey at 212-1746. LOOK AHEAD ART AT THE COURTHOUSE: The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum presents a new exhibit, "History Rendered: Artistic Visions of Citrus County," opening June 24. The show is a retrospective showing of paintings, drawings, sketches and prints rendered by a group of local artists. Many of the works were inspired by historic landmarks, people of the past, picturesque communities and natural resources created in different media. Several artists are still living, but the ones who have died are remembered through their art. Artists include Anita Roy, Dorothy Freeman, Phyllis Milton, Esther Hampton, Epie Boatright, Vance Hendrix, Jean Innis, Walt Huffman and Joseph Newton. The exhibit runs through Aug. 15. The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, 1 Courthouse Square, Inverness, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. For additional information, contact Laurie Diestler at 341-6429. THE JUNGLE BOOK will be performed at 7 p.m. July 28 and at 2:15 and 7 p.m. July 29 at Ocala Civic Theatre. Tickets will go on sale July 3 at $6 for adults and $4 for full-time students. Ocala Civic Theatre is at 4337 E Silver Springs Blvd. (East State Road 40) in the Appleton Cultural Center. The theater box office number is (352) 236-2274. WINGIN' IT, a play for young audiences, will be performed on an outdoor stage at Ocala Civic Theatre. Shows are July 19 to 22, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. daily. Tickets on sale June 26, at $5 per person or may be purchased at the door. The outdoor stage does not have fixed seating, so bring a lawn chair or a blanket. EARLY FIREWORKS and a day of fun activities with games and contests will be June 24 in Homosassa. The activities will be at the Homosassa Riverside Resort and MacRea's, both on Cherokee Drive on the riverfront. The fireworks will be at dusk. Free admission. QUICK TRIPS WILD WATERS continues with its Splash Nights today and Saturday. Splash Nights feature extended hours, until 9 p.m., with half-price admission after 5 p.m., live entertainment, games and contests. Splash Nights will continue Friday and Saturday nights through July 29. On those nights, a DJ will be playing Top 40 dance music. Other activities during Splash Nights are water balloon tossing, limbo and Hula Hoops. Wild Waters is a 9-acre family water park on Silver Springs Boulevard, east of Ocala on State Road 40. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the Web at www.wildwaterspark.com. Bring in any Coke product for an $8 discount off the $23.99 general admission price. Children under 48 inches tall pay $20.99, and a season-long Splash Pass is only $39.99.
