Police seek robber of Wachovia bank

Published June 17, 2006

TAMPA - Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man captured on video while robbing a Wachovia Bank branch Friday.

Deputies say the redheaded, mustached man wore a black baseball cap and a red pullover shirt when he walked into the bank, 15518 N. Dale Mabry Highway, about 9:20 a.m. and handed a note to the teller.

He then fled in a white, four-door Oldsmobile, driving west on Northdale Boulevard.

Deputies say the man was armed with a gun.

They think he is between 25 and 35 years old, between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8. He wore light-colored pants and dark boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or CrimeStoppers at (800) 873-8477.
