With the list of finalists down to six, county commissioners are poised to select a new county administrator this week. Members of the public will have several opportunities to observe and participate.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, the County Commission as a whole will interview each candidate in hourlong time slots at the Citrus County Courthouse, 110 N Apopka Ave., Inverness. Members of the public can meet the finalists at a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Citrus County Resource Center, 2804 W Marc Knighton Court, Lecanto.

The County Commission is slated to make its final pick at a special meeting 2 p.m. Tuesday at the courthouse.

Since Saturday, the Citrus Times has been publishing brief biographical sketches of the finalists. The final two are featured today. A picture of Stampfler wasn't available.
