Clooney won a supporting actor Oscar for his role. WHAT WE SAID: The St. Petersburg Times gave the film a C. MPAA RATING: R; profanity, violence, mature themes RUNNING TIME: 126 min. * * * Eight Below DIRECTOR: Frank Marshall CAST: Paul Walker, Bruce Greenwood, Moon Bloodgood, Jason Biggs, Wendy Crewson, Gerard Plunkett SYNOPSIS: An Antarctic guide (Walker) must wait until spring to rescue the dog team abandoned during a winter storm. Inspired by a true story. WHAT WE SAID: The Times gave the movie a B. MPAA RATING: PG; some peril and brief mild language RUNNING TIME: 120 min. * * * The Hills Have Eyes DIRECTOR: Alexandre Aja CAST: Aaron Stanford, Ted Levine, Kathleen Quinlan, Vinessa Shaw, Emilie de Ravin, Dan Byrd, Robert Joy SYNOPSIS: Grisly remake of Wes Craven's gruesome 1977 shocker about a family pursued by radiation-mutated cannibals. WHAT WE SAID: The Times did not review this movie. MPAA RATING: R; strong gruesome violence and terror throughout, and language RUNNING TIME: 100 min.
