Lunsford wins national honor for extraordinary public service Mark Lunsford received a prestigious service award Tuesday during a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Lunsford was given the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Award for Public Service, which is given to only five people nationwide and recognizes those who have done extraordinary public service. After the death of his daughter, Jessica, Lunsford campaigned for tougher laws against sex offenders and helped start the Jessica Marie Lunsford Foundation. The winners of the Onassis Awards were picked from people who have won local Jefferson Awards, which Lunsford recently received. The local Jefferson Awards recognize ordinary Americans who have done something extraordinary. Crystal River police to concentrate on aggressive, impaired drivers CRYSTAL RIVER - Police are launching a high-profile traffic safety campaign aimed at reducing vehicle crashes. Police will be looking for overly aggressive drivers and plan to do special DUI patrols. They'll also be enforcing seat belt laws.
