Seminole No.1 cruises into championship game

Seminole advanced to Monday's championship game of the 10-11 District 5 All-Star Baseball Tournament at Gulfport with a 14-4 victory against Northeast on Friday.
Devin Kalck went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer for Seminole No.1 and Anthony Lamoureux finished 4-for-4 with five RBIs. Seminole No.1's David Watts was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and Eric Sines went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Joey D'Alessandro and Vince Ferrara led the offensive attack as Baypoint avoided elimination with a 7-3 win against Southwest. Baypoint plays in the loser's bracket final at 10 a.m. today against Northeast.
9-10 BASEBALL: Seminole No.1 defeated Seminole No.2 13-3 in the District 5 All-Star Tournament at Gulfport, advancing to Tuesday's championship game.
Seminole No.1's Will Oberst (4-for-4) connected on his second home run of the postseason and Steve Pedrick went 4-for-4 with a triple. Dan Robinson finished 3-for-3 while Joseph Perdolizzi went 2-for-2 for Seminole No1.
Southwest No.1 remained alive with a 9-4 win against Northeast No.1. Austin Rhoads picked up the victory, striking out six and giving up five hits. Southwest No.1 plays Cross Bayou No.2, a 15-2 winner against Gulf Beaches on Thursday, at 10 a.m. today.
f,8.5,ux0 9-10 SOFTBALL: Northeast hammered Azalea 27-0 in the District 5 All-Star Tournament at Helen Howarth Park in Pinellas Park and plays in the championship game at 10 a.m. today against Southwest.
Northeast sent 23 batters to the plate in the first inning, scoring 18 runs. Northeast's Micayla Wallace (5-for-5) hit for the cycle and Cayla Reddick finished 4-for-5.
Southwest beat Northeast 8-4 on the first day of the tournament. Should Northeast win today, it would force a deciding game Monday.
