INDIANS 10
CARDINALS 3
ST. LOUIS - Cliff Lee worked six innings to keep his perfect interleague record intact and Cleveland got two home runs from Travis Hafner in a victory over St. Louis.
Jhonny Peralta hit a tie-breaking two-run triple in the fifth for the Indians, who also got homers from Grady Sizemore and Todd Hollandsworth. The Cardinals have lost seven in a row for the first time since 2002.
Victor Martinez added two hits and an RBI for the Indians.
Scott Rolen and So Taguchi each had three hits and an RBI for the Cardinals, who have been outscored 64-27 during an all-interleague losing streak.
Notable: St. Louis is 0-5 since Albert Pujols returned from an injury after going 8-7 without him.
RED SOX 8
PHILLIES 7 (12)
BOSTON - David Ortiz beat Philadelphia in extra innings for the second straight game, singling in the winner as the Red Sox won their ninth in a row.
Boston led 6-0 after six and 6-5 in the ninth before Chase Utley homered off the Pesky Pole in right. Philadelphia took a 7-6 lead in the 12th on Jimmy Rollins' double, but Coco Crisp doubled and scored on Kevin Youkilis' single to make it 7-7.
QUOTABLE: "It's almost unfair. But you feel so confident in his ability to do those types of things." - Terry Francona, Red Sox manager, on Ortiz
TWINS 8
DODGERS 2
MINNEAPOLIS - Joe Mauer had four hits and a career-best five RBIs to lead Minnesota to its fifth straight win and 15th in 17 games.
Carlos Silva survived a shaky start and pitched eight innings, maintaining the Twins' momentum on the mound and beating rookie Chad Billingsley.
Mauer, who leads the majors with a .377 average, also tied his career high with four hits.
The Twins, however, failed again to gain ground on division-leading Detroit. They were 11? back in the AL Central on June 7, and after going 15-2 since they are still 11 back. They cut their deficit in the wild-card race to nine as the White Sox were idle.
The Dodgers hit several balls hard in the early innings until Silva found his rhythm.
Notable: The Dodgers still haven't decided whether Brett Tomko will make his scheduled start Wednesday. He has a strained left oblique muscle and was in the training room all day.
YANKEES 5
BRAVES 2
NEW YORK - Jason Giambi homered twice and drove in five runs and Randy Johnson tossed seven shutout innings to lead New York.
Johnson allowed four hits, struck out a season-high nine and didn't walk a batter. He didn't allow a runner past first base until Edgar Renteria went to third on Chipper Jones' two-out single in the sixth.
Johnson recorded seven strikeouts in his last three innings.
Andy Phillips went 3-for-3 and Derek Jeter scored two runs on his 32nd birthday for the Yankees, who have won five of six.
New York scored five runs in the first two innings against Tim Hudson (6-7), who lost his third consecutive start.
Chipper Jones hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning and went 3-for-4 for Atlanta.
Notable: Atlanta manager Bobby Cox was ejected by the plate umpire after Mariano Rivera struck out Matt Diaz looking on a full-count pitch in the ninth. It was his sixth ejection of the season.
