Top five movies and upcoming releases

By STEVE PERSALL
Published June 29, 2006

Current movies recommended by the Times:

1. Click - Adam Sandler's best performance ever helps make this remote control fantasy the summer's top comedy and, at times, one of its better dramas.

2. A Prairie Home Companion - Director Robert Altman and an all-star cast turn Garrison Keillor's radio show into a memorable movie.

3. An Inconvenient Truth - The possible effects of global warming are presented by former Vice President Al Gore, whose personality also thaws out a bit.

4. The Devil Wears Prada - High fashion gets needled in this classy comedy, adapted from the novel about a ruthless magazine editor played to the hilt by Meryl Streep.

5. Cars - Pixar, Disney and NASCAR. If that combination can't please moviegoers, the animation industry is in deep trouble.
