MIAMI - Miami Heat backup center Alonzo Mourning returned to a basketball court for the first time since Miami won the NBA championship, but his career remains in limbo. "It's only fitting that I retire in a Heat jersey, but I really haven't made that decision yet whether or not will I play again. It was very difficult for me to leave last time," said Mourning, who, after missing a season because of a kidney disorder, joined the New Jersey Nets in 2003. He returned to the Heat in 2005. Mourning spoke two days before the 10th "Zo's Summer Groove," which kicks off Wednesday with a basketball clinic in Miramar. SUMMER LEAGUE: Marcin Gortat scored 15 and Travis Diener had 14 in the Magic's 86-82 loss to the Nets in Orlando Summer League action. Sean May scored 22 and Adam Morrison 12 as the Bobcats downed the Heat 83-65, and Tyrus Thomas and Thabo Sefolosha combined for 26 points as the Bulls defeated the Pacers 93-88. HAWKS: Atlanta signed first-round draft pick Shelden Williams to a four-year deal that will earn the former Duke standout about $5-million the first two years. SONICS: Seven-foot center Mouhamed Sene, the No. 10 pick in last month's draft, signed with Seattle. WNBA: Tamika Catchings of the Indiana Fever withdrew from Wednesday's All-Star Game in New York after being diagnosed with Achilles' tendinitis in her left heel.
