2006-07 Lightning schedule released
The Lightning begins and ends its season in Atlanta. Its first home game is Oct. 7 against Boston.

TAMPA — The Lightning will open its 2006-07 NHL season on Oct. 5 at Atlanta.
Then the Lightning will play eight of its next 11 at home with the home opener set for Oct. 7 against Boston at 7:30 at the St. Pete Times Forum.
The unbalanced schedule has the Lightning playing eight times against Southeast Division rivals (Atlanta, Carolina, Florida and Washington) and four times against the other teams in the Eastern Conference.
The Lightning will host teams from the Pacific Division (Dallas, San Jose, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Anaheim) and visit teams in the Northwest Division (Minnesota, Colorado, Calgary, Vancouver and Edmonton).
Tampa Bay will not play teams from the Central Division (Columbus, Detroit, St. Louis, Chicago and Nashville).
The regular season ends where it begins: in Atlanta on April 7.
