Man, 41, dies after jump from Skyway ST. PETERSBURG - A man died Monday after he jumped off the Sunshine Skyway. A passer-by alerted the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 6:52 p.m. that a man had stopped his golden Toyota on the southbound side of the center span, exited the car and jumped over the rail, said sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter. The Coast Guard pulled the 41-year-old man's body from the water. The man's name was not released Monday night. Teen killed in a one-vehicle accident TAMPA - A Valrico 18-year-old died when the vehicle he was riding in ran off the road and struck a tree Monday. Charles Henry Ridgeway III died at the scene. The crash occurred at about 4 a.m. after a driver lost control of a 1985 Dodge van south on Valrico Road, said the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Driver Benjamin Barse, 18, of Lutz was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he was in fair condition, a spokeswoman said.
