Leader rejoins construction firm

CLEARWATER - John M. Hamilton has returned to Northstar Design & Construction as president and chief executive officer after leaving two years ago to become general manager of Sunwest Construction of Tampa Bay. Hamilton rejoined Northstar after overseeing a period of rapid expansion with Sunwest. During his tenure at Sunwest, the company completed Harborview Grande on Clearwater Beach, Bella Marguerite on St. Pete Beach and La Vistana I on Redington Shores and began site improvements for Antigua Bay on Seminole Street in Clearwater. At Northstar, Hamilton's business development and construction expertise will be focused on energy-efficient and storm-resistant buildings under design for several proposed Florida projects. Happy Feet Plus on U.S. 19 in Clearwater, a Northstar-designed building, was the first freestanding retail building to receive gold certification two years ago from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design system created by the U.S. Green Building Council. Northstar's headquarters is at 2342 Nash St., Clearwater. Broadband TV network hires chief of operations John Furlow has joined Adrenaline Nation Entertainment as chief of operations. He will oversee the daily operations and management of the company. For the past 16 years, Furlow's company, SBBS, has assisted in the operation and oversight of more than 100 companies and advised many of them in business plan development and marketing initiatives. He has been responsible for the structure and launch of many startup businesses and counseled clients on insurance, investments and real estate projects. Adrenaline Nation Entertainment is a broadband television network connecting viewers and advertisers to the 18- to 49-year-old audience. Its programming highlights new music, independent films, extreme action, adventure and motors sports. Earlier this year, the company opened a 3,500-square-foot facility in Clearwater for its eight editing suites and five sound stages. Westin Innisbrook brings in new director of catering Fran Iosa has been hired as director of catering at the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort, 36750 U.S. 19 N, Palm Harbor. She will be responsible for banquets, day meetings, client entertaining events and a variety of social functions including weddings, holiday parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, school proms and fundraisers. She most recently was director of catering at the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore hotel and before that was with Starlite Cruises and the former Adams Mark Clearwater Beach Resort. She is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of Stone College in New Haven, Conn. The Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort's facilities include four restaurants, three conference halls and 600 guest rooms and suites. It has a 72-hole championship golf course, 11 tennis courts, a fitness center, six swimming pools and a nature preserve. New vice president of PR, membership at chamber Theresa A. Victory is the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce's new vice president of public relations and membership. She will be responsible for implementing marketing strategies, managing production of the chamber's monthly newsletter, Voice of Business, building media relations and creating new opportunities for chamber advertising. Victory has more than 15 years of marketing experience, including business development, public relations, print advertising, promotion, volunteer management and sales. She has a degree in international business management and a marketing postgraduate certificate from New York University. She attended La Universidad de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico, and speaks fluent Spanish. Contractor to build schools in Manatee, promotes 3 Creative Contractors commercial construction firm in Clearwater has been hired by the Manatee County School District to build Manatee Elementary, a $10.5-million project, and Horizons Academy, a $9.9-million project. Reynolds, Smith and Hills of Tampa is the architect of the elementary school. Holmes Hepner & Associates of Tampa is the architect of the academy. Ali Clutter, Todd Pope and Jeffrey Willett have been promoted to project managers at Creative Contractors. Clutter, with the firm for five years, is managing the BayCare corporate office project in Clearwater. Pope, with the firm for seven years, is managing projects at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Polk County. Willett, with Creative for five years, is managing the Pinellas County sheriff's administration building project in Largo.
