Doors open early so parents and students can get a peek

Open houses

Before school starts on Thursday, students get a chance to find their way to classrooms and meet their teachers during the following open houses.

Elementary schools

Anderson: 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. or 6:15 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Ballast Point: Kindergarten picnic 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. today for students and their families. Dinner and class visits for all students 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Broward: Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Chiaramonte: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Dale Mabry: Kindergarteners and first-graders noon to 1 p.m. and second- through fifth-graders 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Desoto: 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Dickenson: 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Dunbar: PTA meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, from 6 to 7 p.m. Students and parents can visit classroom.

Edison: 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Foster: 3 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Gorrie: 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Grady: 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Graham: 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

James (K-8): 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Just: 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Lanier: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Lee: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
