Know your air conditioning

A free program, "Secrets of Air Conditioning Operation," will be from 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 5 at Home Depot, 10689 Ulmerton Road, Largo. Presented by the Pinellas County Extenson Service, the program will explain how to save energy dollars, use an automatic thermostat, select a new air-conditioning system, operate your home air-conditioning system efficiently, and use terms such as "SEER" and "SHR."

Get energized

A one-hour program, "Homeowners' Energy Efficiency," will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center in St. Petersburg. Bert Henderson of the Pinellas County Extension Service is the presenter.

Homeowners will learn how to save energy, identify energy wasters, track their energy use, and select energy-efficient air conditioning.
