NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco sheriff's deputies have arrested a Holiday man who was accused of beating another man in the face, then pointing a gun at him.

Adolph Cortez Jr. was charged Friday with aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

The arrest report says the victim's face was "extremely bloody and swollen" and his jaw may have been broken. Authorities did not indicate whether the two men knew each other.

The incident occurred Friday at Valu-Lodge of New Port Richey on U.S. 19. Cortez, whose clothes were covered in blood, was arrested at a nearby Burger King. His gun was found in the grass.
