DETROIT - Brad Radke won for the seventh time in eight decisions, ending the Tigers' four-game win streak. Minnesota has won five of six. Tied at 2, Detroit loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth. But Craig Monroe flied out to leftfielder Jason Tyner, who threw out Magglio Ordonez at home. Sean Casey then flied out. Nick Punto doubled with one out in the ensuing half-inning and later scored on a double by Joe Mauer. Minnesota loaded the bases against Fernando Rodney in the ninth and got a run on Michael Cuddyer's groundout. After intentionally walking Justin Morneau to load the bases again, Rodney retired Torii Hunter on a comebacker. Twins closer Joe Nathan gave up a two-out walk to Brandon Inge and a single to Curtis Granderson in the ninth then retired Placido Polanco on a flyout. Notable: Twins designated hitter Rondell White played for the first time since injuring his left hamstring July 30 and doubled in the fourth.
