CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - Patrick Sheehan piggybacked playing partner Ian Leggatt's incredible second round to take the lead at the halfway mark of the International at Castle Pines Golf Club.
Half the field of 140 was still on the course when a thunderstorm caused a 3½-hour delay Friday. Many will return early today to try to make the cut.
Sheehan's five birdies offset his two bogeys and gave him eight points for the day and 18 for the tournament, the only stop on the PGA Tour that uses the modified Stableford scoring system, which awards two points for birdie, five for eagle and eight for double eagle. One point is deducted for bogey, three for double bogey or worse.
"We all played pretty well (Thursday), and it just continued (Friday)," Sheehan said. "... A guy makes a couple birdies and you just follow him up."
Leggatt was one back after shooting 3 Friday. He recovered from double bogey on his first hole to sink three birdies and two eagles. Chris Riley posted his second straight six-point round.
Stanford keeps solid lead

Gwladys Nocera shot 69 and was one stroke behind the leaders.

First-round co-leader Christian Cevaer of France, who also played 11 holes Friday, dropped into a second-place tie with Denmark's Soren Kjeldsen at 6-under 136.
