Single-car crash kills 2 in Dade City

DADE CITY - Two women were killed on Interstate 75 early Sunday morning after they were ejected from their vehicle.
The Florida Highway Patrol identified the victims as Crystal R. Nipitella, 23, of Hudson and Carolynn J. Hanna, 25, whose residence was not available.
Troopers said the 2002 Jeep that Nipitella was driving was northbound on I-75 just after 2 a.m. when it drifted into the median. The Jeep overturned before stopping in the southbound lanes.
Why the Jeep drifted off the road was still under investigation. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
ATV crash kills girl in Hernando County
A 13-year-old Brooksville girl died Saturday when the all-terrain vehicle on which she was a passenger crashed into a stand of trees near U.S. 19 in the Royal Highlands region of Hernando County.
According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, Danielle Marie Frascello was pronounced dead at Tampa General Hospital from injuries she suffered when she was thrown from the back of the ATV being driven by her cousin Angeline del Pilar , 12.
Authorities said neither girl was wearing a helmet.
Police pull body of man from retention pond
CLEARWATER - Police late Sunday pulled the body of an adult male from a retention pond near a shopping center at U.S. 19 and Drew Street.
The man was not carrying identification, police said, and there were no obvious signs of foul play.
Police responded to the scene after receiving a call about 7:48 p.m. of a body in the pond.
