After being flagged down by someone she thought was looking for directions, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Sgt. Mozell Porter pulled over to help and discovered that Christina Morales was in labor, and the baby's head was already visible. Porter called for backup and an ambulance, but successfully delivered the baby girl before additional help arrived.
BRANDON - A Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputy helped deliver a healthy baby girl at  5:20 a.m. today in a car along State Road 60.

Christina Morales and Filogonio Garcia apparently got lost on their way to Brandon Regional Hospital, said the deputy, Sgt. Mozell Porter.

Porter was stopped at Hilltop Drive when Garcia, 28, knocked on her window and said something in Spanish. The deputy instructed Garcia to pull over beside a Checker's restaurant, where she found Morales in the car giving birth.
