Head count shows Hillsborough growing

The biggest population gains are in southern Hillsborough and Brandon, according to the interim report.

Hillsborough County has grown by 34,210 residents since 2005, according to the 2006 Population and Housing Estimates report released today by the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission. 

According to the report, the top growth census tracts are located in southern Hillsboroug and west Brandon.

The city of Tampa grew by 31,100 new residents, Plant City grew by 4,000 new residents; Temple Terrace added 2,560 new residents, and unincorporated Hillsborough County added 140,450 new residents since the 2000 Census was taken.
