The Slade at Channelside

A look at a new development in our midst.

LOCATION: N 11th Street and Meridian Avenue in the Channel District.

DEVELOPER: Cobalt Development Group of Miami.

DESCRIPTION: Two midrise condominium buildings with a total of 280 units. Units range from 780 to 1,553 square feet and have one bedroom and one bath, two bedrooms and two baths, or three bedrooms and two baths.

PRICE: From the $280,000s to the $500,000s.

ARCHITECTS: Cohen Freeman Encinosa & Associates of Miami.

AMENITIES: Units have oversized balconies, hardwood floors, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and Italian cabinetry. Common areas include two pools - one saltwater and one freshwater - pool deck cabanas, a two-story fitness club with steam baths and a club room. Buildings have 24-hour doormen and wireless Internet access.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: Street-level retail units will house a coffee shop, boutiques and a dry cleaning business, said Mia Alexander of Cobalt Development.

TIMELINE: Construction is scheduled to begin after Jan. 1 and end in 2008.

MOVE-IN DATE: 2008
