TAMPA - Deputies arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting another man at a North Tampa apartment complex late Monday night.

Someone at the complex called 911 shortly after the 9:55 p.m. shooting, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

When deputies arrived at the Carlisle Lakes Apartments at 12501 Tinsley Circle, they observed the suspect driving away, Carter said.

Deputies chased the man as he drove his red Nissan Altima east along Fletcher Avenue.

Carter said the man took Interstate 75 to Fowler Avenue, exited and then drove to U.S. 301.

He stopped the car near Williams and Harney Road where he took off on foot.

The suspect, whose name was not released, hid from deputies in a shed or barn, Carter said.

Deputies used a dog to find the man and arrest him.

Carter did not release the name of the shooting victim or any other information about what may have happened.

She said the victim died about 10:30 p.m.
