Getting a kick out of soccer

Want to get your kid kicking? In addition to the Seminole Shooting Stars, there are many other soccer programs in the area. Here are a few:

- 4FITKIDS offers youth soccer and flag football. The league focuses on equal playing time, healthy living and character development. Soccer registration ends Thursday. Cost is $79. If you miss it, you can pay an extra fee to register late through Sept. 1. Information: www.fourfitkids.com or 727 637-6838.

- Azalea Eagles Soccer seeks players for under 12 girls and under 15 boys on competitive teams. Call (727) 345-7344 (girls) or (727) 384-6288 (boys).

- The Pinellas Raiders still have a few openings for players in the following age groups: 9 boys and girls, 13 boys, 14 girls, and 16 girls and 18 boys. Call Larry Ferrol at (727) 251-2036 or e-mail dlferrol@aol.com.

- Southside Youth Soccer league is holding a walk-in registration today from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Enoch Davis Center and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Blessed Trinity Church. Or register online at www.southsidesoccer.net/.

- Largo United is holding registration for its recreational league for players 4-18. Dates for registration are Aug. 26 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sept. 6-7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Largo Soccer Complex at 1779 Belcher Road. Call 393-5182.

- Madeira Beach Soccer registration for children ages 5-12 will be held at the Madeira Beach Recreation Center on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon. Call Steve Jurczik at 392-0665.
