CLEARWATER - A 28-year-old man wanted in a home invasion robbery in which a $3,800 necklace was stolen was arrested Sunday after the victims reported seeing him in possession of the gold piece of jewelry.

According to Largo police, Darius Jarvis Kaigler broke into a home on Green Acres Avenue early May 31, fired a round from a shotgun inside the apartment and then stole the necklace.

Largo police Sgt. Edward Sohoski said there were three people in the apartment - Jamal Davone Howard, Deniece Anonica Berricks and an infant - but no one was hurt. One of the victims called authorities Sunday to report that Kaigler had been seen at Cherry Harris Park on Beckett Street.

Clearwater police Sgt. Greg Stewart said officers arrested Kaigler about 3 p.m. Sunday on N Myrtle Avenue and charged him with misdemeanor possession after they found marijuana on him.

Largo police arrived to arrest him on a charge of possession of stolen property.

Sohoski said officers confirmed the necklace was the one stolen during the robbery.
