Scott Kazmir tied and broke Victor Zambrano's Rays franchise strikeout record Tuesday night against the Rangers.

NEW YORK - Tom Glavine will soon resume his quest for 300 victories and another World Series ring.

Allaying fears that Glavine's season could be over because of a blood clot in his left shoulder, the Mets said Tuesday that he won't need surgery. Glavine should be able to rejoin the rotation in seven to 10 days and might not need to go on the disabled list.

"I'm relieved," Glavine said before Tuesday's game against St. Louis. "It's certainly a great feeling knowing that I can go out there and pitch."

New York also acquired outfielder Shawn Green from the Diamondbacks for Triple-A left-hander Evan MacLane, 23.

"I'm definitely excited for the opportunity," said Green, 33. "I really like the Mets' chances to go to the postseason and have a chance at the World Series."

Also, the Mets said they have completed and signed all agreements dealing with the financing, development and construction of a new $800-million, 45,000-seat stadium.

GM: Yanks losing money

The Yankees are losing money even as they win games, general manager Brian Cashman said. The team's high payroll, revenue-sharing outlay and other expenses eclipse revenue, Cashman said on Bloomberg radio's On the Ball, to air this weekend. "We're making a lot, but we're spending more than we're making," said Cashman, who declined to say how much the team is losing. Forbes said the Yankees lost $50-million last season before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization because they paid $77-million in revenue sharing to less wealthy clubs.

BLUE JAYS: Manager John Gibbons addressed Monday's confrontation with pitcher Ted Lilly, which left Gibbons with a bloody nose. "I overreacted, no question about that," Gibbons said on a Toronto radio station. "I'm not proud of that. That's not who I am. But I am a passionate guy. ... I've got to live with it now." General manager J.P. Ricciardi said he thought Gibbons made a mistake in confronting Lilly.

PHILLIES: Centerfielder Aaron Rowand broke his left ankle Monday when he collided with teammate Chase Utley chasing a fly. Rowand is expected to miss four weeks. ... Philadelphia acquired infielder Jose Hernandez from the Pirates for cash.
