Zephyrhills man accused of giving drug to teen girl

Published August 26, 2006

A 24-year-old Zephyrhills man was arrested Thursday, accused of giving a 14-year-old girl methamphetamine in the form of a pill, according to sheriff's reports.

Brent Morgan, who was found at 38340 Palm Grove Drive, was charged with child abuse.

Sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said that although the incident occurred in February, Morgan was not arrested until Thursday because he fled the scene and deputies had trouble locating him.

Morgan knew the girl, but no details were available regarding their relationship, Tobin said.

He was being held at the Land O'Lakes jail Friday in lieu of $5,000 bail.
