If your nest egg is puny, you may not be able to retire, but at least you'll have lots of company. The Tampa Bay area isn't just below average nationally, it's among the worst in the state for nurturing nest eggs. That's the verdict from brokerage firm A.G. Edwards, which released its second annual Nest Egg Index on Wednesday. The index is based on factors such as personal savings rates, household wealth, home ownership, cost of living, unemployment rate and retirement plan penetration.
