Friday and Saturday schedules
A look at Friday and Saturday night TV.

What else? Men in Trees 9 p.m., ABC; special preview at 10 p.m. Tuesday, time period debut Friday. Showbiz shorthand: Northern Exposure meets Moonlighting. My take: Anne Heche is a relationship coach so smooth, you know she's getting her comeuppance before long. Sure enough, at a speaking engagement in Alaska, she discovers that her perfect fiance is cheating on her and that the isolated town, which boasts a 10-1 ratio of men to women (hence the title), is more than it seems. And if you need to ask whether her citified career girl will fall for the hunky forestry expert who saves her from falling in an icy lake, you haven't seen too many romantic comedies. Will it survive? Too odd for female viewers and too mushy for men, this series may fall into a very large hole on Friday nights.
