A sigh of relief, then sudden panic
By MARY HISE, CLEARWATER

I was on my way to a church meeting. When I arrived, everyone was watching and listening to the TV. I almost started screaming. My daughter, Margaret Morrison, was flying to New York at that precise time. She had flown as a flight attendant, international, for Delta for around 28 plus years. Then it came out that the planes were American and United. I breathed a small sigh of relief, but then got panicky thinking of all the past terrorist acts against our country. I think I was one of the few who remarked, "My God, they have been training for years and we don't even know who we are supposed to be at war with." I was thinking of all the terrorist acts and suddenly thought how easy it would be for them to have the car bombs planted all over the U.S. in strategic places. We are so complacent that they could have taken us over. I slowly drove home and waited to hear that my daughter had landed in Washington, D.C., and she and two or three other flight attendants had to pay $1,000 to rent a moving van to finally get home. These terrorists have been training for years and years and are out to get all the nations. We have to get rid of them. God bless and help America and all the nations. - MARY HISE, Clearwater * * * Memories of 9/11? Share at itsyourtimes.com.
