ADVERTISING

Paradise Advertising and Marketing, St. Petersburg, announces these appointments: Jesse Landis and Carolyn Oehlerts, public relations managers. Landis was PR director at the Glasure Group, St. Petersburg; and Oehlerts was managing director for Nichol & Co., New York.

ARCHITECTURE

Kim Headland has been named marketing director at WilderArchitecture Inc., Tampa. Headland was a project coordinator for Walton H. Chancey and Associates, Tampa.

CONSTRUCTION

Brenda Kunkel has been promoted to vice president of sales at Newland Communities Southeast region, which includes FishHawk Ranch, Lithia, Covington Park, MiraBay and Waterset, all in SouthShore in Hillsborough County. Kunkel was vice president of marketing for the East Coast operations of Newland Communities.

FINANCIAL

R. Lawrence Heinkel has been named vice president and wealth adviser at Raymond James Trust Private Wealth Management, St. Petersburg. Heinkel was a lawyer in private practice in both St. Petersburg and Orlando.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Guillermo Cintron Jr. has joined LifeLink HealthCare Institute, Tampa, as a cardiologist. Cintron was a professor at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Tampa and provided consultant cardiology services to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute and was the chief of the cardiology section at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tampa.

Sherrie Belcher has been named admissions director at the Abbey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center LLC, St. Petersburg. Belcher was the marketing manager at American Hospital Guide Inc., Tampa.

Tampa Bay Orthopaedic Specialists, Pinellas Park, announces these appointments: Dr. Nigel W. Sparks, specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy and general orthopaedics; and Dr. Scott M. Wisotsky, specializing in hand, elbow and shoulder surgery. Sparks previously practiced at Florida Knee and Orthopaedics, Clearwater; and Wisotsky completed a one-year fellowship in hand, shoulder and elbow surgery at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

HOSPITALITY

Sam Zabawsky has been named director of sales and marketing at the Sandpearl Resort, Clearwater Beach. Zabawsky was director of resort sales and marketing at the Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

LEGAL

Andrew S. Bolin has been named "Young Lawyer of the Year" by the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. Bolin is an associate and practices in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability and personal injury defense at the law firm of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen, Tampa.

David M. Doney has been named to the board of directors of the Florida Venture Forum; and Donald R. Kirk has been selected to participate in the 2006 class of Leadership Tampa. Doney is a shareholder and member of the corporate practice group at the law firm of Fowler White Boggs Banker PA, Tampa, concentrating in the areas of corporate and securities transactions including mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities financing, securities exchange act reporting and compliance matters; and Kirk is a shareholder and is a member of the commercial litigation practice group at Fowler White Boggs Banker, concentrating in the areas of bankruptcy and creditor's rights, commercial litigation, partnership disputes and contract disputes.

Jeffrey L. Hinds has been named of Counsel at the law firm of Bricklemyer Smolker & Bolves PA, Tampa. Hinds concentrates in the areas of real estate, property rights and general commercial litigation, and previously was assistant general counsel at the Florida Department of Transportation.

Kathleen S. McLeroy has been reappointed to serve on the Florida Bar's Standing Committee on Professionalism. McLeroy is a shareholder and practices in the real property litigation practice group and serves as the chairwoman of the pro bono committee at the law firm of Carlton Fields, Tampa.

Shane T. Munoz has been elected to the executive council of the Florida Bar Labor & Employment Section. Munoz is a partner and practices in the areas of labor and employment at the law firm of Zinober & McCrea, Tampa.

Cathleen E. O'Dowd has been named of Counsel in the real estate practice group at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP, Tampa. O'Dowd was assistant city attorney to the city of Tampa.

NONPROFIT

Nancy Hobson has been named executive director at Westminster Palms, St. Petersburg. Hobson was director of supportive aging services at the Senior Friendship Center in Sarasota.

Steve Pica has been named director of behavior and training at the Humane Society of Pinellas Inc., Clearwater. Pica served as a volunteer mentor in the behavior department at the SPCA of Tampa Bay, Largo, where he assisted in teaching structured kennel enrichment programs to new and tenured volunteers and is the owner/operator of "Dogs Gone Wild," a private dog training and behavior counseling organization in Clearwater.

ORGANIZATIONS

Dr. David Siegel has been elected president of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP). Siegel is senior physician consultant at Empath Consulting Group, based in Richmond, Calif., clinical coordinator at the Florida Medical Quality Assurance Inc. (FMQAI), Tampa, and a clinical professor of medicine at the University of South Florida School of Medicine, Tampa.

REAL ESTATE

Jo-Ann Sloan has been promoted to regional director of education for Tampa Bay at Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Inc., Tampa. Sloan is a broker associate and was sales and corporate training manager.

TECHNOLOGY

George M. Gordon has been named to the Florida Technology, Research and Scholarship Board, a new advisory board of the Florida State University system. Gordon is chief executive officer and chairman of Enporion, Tampa.

UNIVERSITIES

Robert Friedman has been named interim dean of the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute at the University of South Florida, Tampa. Friedman currently serves as chairman of the institute's department of child and family studies.
