The Preserve at South Tampa

A look at a new development in our midst.

LOCATION: 5440 S MacDill Ave.

DEVELOPER: BVA Conversion Partners LLC of Fort Lauderdale.

DESCRIPTION: Condominium conversion of Arbour House apartments. 58 units in five buildings constructed in 1987. All units have two bedrooms and one bath.

PRICE: $156,500 to $158,500.

DESIGNER: Shawn Swetmon of Swetmon & Associates of Orlando.

AMENITIES: Gated site; reserved parking; outdoor patio and barbecue area; designer landscaping. Units have new tile and Berber carpet; optional hardwood floors; granite countertops; cherry wood cabinets; stainless steel or black appliances; washer and dryer; walk-in closet in master bedroom; ceiling fans; lighting; and blinds.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: Extensive landscaping creates the feeling of a nature preserve inside the complex, said Still Hunter of BVA Conversion Partners.

TIME LINE: Renovations began in late 2005 and finished early this year on some units. Eighteen units are available, 14 of which are still under construction. They are scheduled to be finished by the end of the year.

MOVE-IN DATE: Ongoing or upon completion of individual units.
