Old Timers come back to Floral City

A folk history day at Floral City Community Building will feature memorabilia and memories of the scenic town.

The Floral City Old Timers Reunion begins at 10 a.m. at the Community Building, one block east of the traffic light at U.S. 41 and Orange Avenue. The event will feature old maps and photos, along with long-time residents who will share their memories.

There will also be a potluck lunch served. Free admission.

Both community theaters are continuing with their season openers.

- The Art Center Theatre at 2644 N Annapolis Ave., off County Road 486 in Citrus Hills, continues with performances of Old Wine In A New Bottle at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturdays; 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be an extra 2 p.m. matinee today.

Reserved seating admission is $18. Box office hours are 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. Call 746-7606.

- Meanwhile, Playhouse 19, 865 U.S. 19, Crystal River, offers its take on the comic strip L'il Abner, with a cast of zany backwoods characters. Shows at 8 p.m. today; 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for students. Box office is open an hour before each show. Call 563-1333.
