SAFETY HARBOR - Pinellas County sheriff's deputies are investigating an armed robbery at Cumberland Farms Store on Wednesday night.

Deputies were dispatched to 353 Phillippe Parkway at 7:51 p.m. An employee told deputies a man entered the store with a black semiautomatic handgun in his right hand, pointed the gun at him and demanded money, the Sheriff's Office said.

While the gunman stayed at the counter, the employee went behind it, passing another employee who was already behind the counter.

The gunman told the second employee to get money out of the cash register as well.

Both employees did as they were told and the robber left with an undisclosed amount of money, sheriff's officials said.

The robber is described as 6 feet tall, 28 to 30 years old, and Hispanic with light skin, sheriff's spokesman Mac McMullen said.

He was last seen wearing a black cap, a black bandanna covering the lower part of his face, a green long-sleeved pullover, black pants, black cloth gloves and white sneakers.
